The Wedding announcement in the Dutton Advance stated: "A quiet but pretty social event took place at the home of Mr Jonathan Dell at 5 o'clock on Tuesday evening when his daughter Mary Elizabeth became the bride of Mr Fred. E. Beecroft of Lawrence. Only a few immediate friends were present to witness the interesting ceremony, which was performed by Rev Dr Husser of Dutton. the young couple who were unattended, stood underneath a handsome arch of evergreen and flowers. the high esteem in which they are held by their numerous friends was shown by the many valuable gifts received by them." (Dutton Advance 22 Sept 1910 pg8c2).
Mary was born September 20, 1889 in Langton, Norfolk County. Before they were married, Mary was a teacher at the public school in Tyrconnel south of Wallacetown. After Fred and Mary married, they live for a while in Southwold, then moved to St. Thomas where he operated a restaurant for a number of years. After selling the restaurant, Fred and Mary bought a farm back in Southwold Township. Frederick died August 29, 1949 from prostate cancer and was buried in Cowal McBride Cemetery. notes. kwb
