E.C. Blaylock's dog was discovered to have rabies, causing its death. Since it was unknown whether the dog bit other dogs or not, the mayor ordered all dogs tied or muzzled at once.
• The brooder house of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bowling caught fire causing little damage.
• Herbert Sheldon had taken over the express hauling from the depot to the stores.
• Bertha Belle Whitelaw and Annie Anderson entertained the Athenaeum Club.
• The roof of the Lyle Beecroft house caught fire, but was discovered when only a hole was burned near the chimney.
