• Her obituary was published in the Kansas City Star on 18 Feb 2012. Mildred M. Beecroft, 97, a long time resident of Kansas City, Kan., gracefully slipped into God's loving embrace on Feb. 14, 2012, in Jacksonville, Fla. Born in Loring, Kan., on April 28, 1914, and moved to Kansas City in 1944. She is preceded by her husband, Leonard Beecroft, her parents, Henry and Katherine Grob, her brothers, Ralph, Paul and Carl Grob, and her eldest daughter, Barbara Marie Bryan. She leaves behind her daughter, Beverly and son-in-law Kent Aldridge, Jacksonville, six grandchildren, Stephanie Gilsdorf, Bonner Springs, Kan., Michael Bryan, Wintzville, Mo., Steven Bryan, Sedalia, Mo., Shawn Aldridge, Christopher Aldridge, and Matthew Aldridge, Jacksonville, and spouses, 12 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. Mildred had resided the past few years in Jacksonville due to failing health and to be close to her daughter. Mildred was a member of the Merriam Lane La Sertoma, the Peaceful Valley Extension Homemaker Unit and the Bristol Hill United Methodist Church. She was known for her culinary creations such as her wedding cakes, cookies, and specialty items. She will always be remembered for the nurturing and love she gave to one and all and for being of service and a great cook and a selfless volunteer. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Maple Hill Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the Chapel. Burial will follow services at Maple Hill Cemetery.
