QUINCY, Pa. - Thomas Leroy Becraft Sr., 76, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 10902 Loop Road, Fayetteville, Pa., died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at the nursing home.
Born Sept. 5, 1923, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late James and Clara Kauffman Becraft.
He was employed by the federal government as a restoration specialist, working at Gettysburg National Military Park from 1959 to 1984. He was a work leader for Catoctin Job Corps near Camp David; and a driving instructor from 1956 to 1959.
He served in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard in Waynesboro.
He was a member South Mountain Fish and Game Club; and National AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Loretta Wagaman Becraft, whom he married in October 1941, also of Quincy United Methodist Home; two daughters, Cleopatra Carbaugh of Mont Alto, Pa., and Connie E. Shaner of Mount Wolf, Pa.; two sons, Thomas L. Becraft Jr., of Mont Alto, and Donald L. Becraft of South Mountain, Pa.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. C. Albert Guyer will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Betty L. (Wagaman) Becraft, 76, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, PA, formerly of 10902 Loop Rd., South Mountain, PA, died at 8:13 A.M. Wednesday October 16, 2002 in the nursing home. She was in failing health for the past several years and critically ill for the past two weeks.
Born December 6, 1925 in South Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Minne (Kauffman) Wagaman. She lived her early life in the South Mountain area.
Mrs. Becraft attended the Guilford School in South Mountain.
She and her late husband, Mr. Thomas L. Becraft, Sr., were married in October 1941 in Baltimore, MD. They lived in Waynesboro for a short time after the marriage, and then moved to Mont Alto, PA, and then to South Mountain, until entering the nursing home in November 1999. Mr. Becraft passed away on March 5, 2000.
Mrs. Becraft was a homemaker all of her life.
She attended the First Church of God, South Mountain and was a member of the National AARP.
She is survived by two daughters; Cleopatra "Pat" Carbaugh, Mont Alto and Connie E. Shaner, Leesburg, Florida; two sons; Thomas L. Becraft, Jr., Mont Alto, and Donald L. Becraft, South Mountain; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; six sisters; Ruth Binkley and Donna Gates both of Waynesboro; Hazel Addlesberger, York, PA; Myrtle Berklite, Columbus, Georgia; Edith Baker and Ada Baker both of South Mountain, four brothers, Ellis Wagaman, Edward Wagaman and Richard Wagaman all of South Mountain, Ray Wagaman, Chambersburg, as well as a number of nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred T. "Junior" Wagaman, Vernis Wagaman and Robert Wagaman.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 19, 2002 in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro with Rev. Dr. Mervil R. Stambaugh officiating.
Burial will be in the Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain.
