NEW LONDON -- Jerome W. Beecroft, 77, died Sunday at Ashwood Care Center, WIllmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hope United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jeff Deyoe will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Jerome Beecroft was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Turtle Lake, Wis., to Thomas and Selma (Retrum) Beecroft. He married Rhoda King Oct. 8, 1935, in St. Paul and farmed near Lake Lillian. He moved to New London in 1943 and was emplyed by Concrete Products for 21 years and by Hedberg and Sons, Minneapolis, from 1964 until his retirement in 1976. He wintered in Florida and Texas for the past 10 years, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of New London American Legion Post 537. He has been a resident of care center since February.
Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Wayne and William, New London; Tony, Hutchinson; Joanne Ryks, Pennock; Lela Carlson, Elaine Kleinart and Susan Erickson, Willmar; Darlen Nielson, St. Pau; brothers, Clemons, West St. Pau; Chris, Henderson, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul; an infant daughter; sister, Harriet Breest; and one grandson.
