---
Esteemed Lady Laid at Rest Last
Sunday Afternoon
---
Addie Becraft, wife of the late William Fenton Becraft, passed away last Friday morning at the home of her son, Charles, in Battle Creek.

She had been in failing health for the past year and had only recently moved to the home of her son.

Addie Coddington was born in 1847 and spent nearly all of her life in this vicinity, either on the farm of her parents or in this village. She was united in marriage to William F. Becraft in 1869, and to them three children were born, Lena, Charles and Mary. Both daughters passed away while young, Lena at the age of 24, and Mary when still in her teens.

This was a sad blow to the devoted mother, but through all the years when she grieved for her daughters she maintained a cheerful, unselfish and lovable disposition and was ever ready and eager to help others about her to find happiness.

Her loyalty to the many friends she made was one of her great virtues.

She had been for many years one of the leading women in the village ready to be of service in whatever way she could.

Her keen interest in all things about her, and the rare intellect she possessed, made her one of our finest women.

She leaves besides her son, Charles, a host of friends who will never cease to miss her.

Rev. Bogart officiated at the funeral, held in this place Sunday afternoon. Two fine solos were rendered by Mr. Harry Hacker, a friend of the deceased. Interment was made in the village cemetery.
