Scott F. Becraft, 74, 4411 S. Road 00 East-West Lot 19B, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 1996, at his residence. On Feb. 8, 1922, in Fayette County, he was born to Walter and Hanna (Crews) Becraft. On Oct. 12, 1968, in Kokomo, he married Donna J. (Newlin) Becraft, she survives.

He retired in Jan 1985 after 34 1/2 years from Haynes International were he was a furnace operator. He also worked on and off for Drago Amusements for 40 years. He served in the U.S. National Guard and the National Guard of Indiana. He was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 20-years member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 255, where he served as president from 1986-1987. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Peru. He had 500 hours of driving for the bloodmobile.

Also surviving are three sons and two daughters-on-law, Fred and Linda Becraft, Chula Vista, Calif., Kenneth Allen and Rose Becraft, Kokomo, and Bruce Wayne Becraft, Kokomo; and adopted son, Albert Dennis, Kokomo; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Sandra Kay and Mike Adams, Kokomo, Theresa Ann and Eugene Evans, Kokomo, Dawn E. and Gary Duke, Indianapolis, Judy and Tony Salazar, Okinawa, Japan, and Kim BOntrager, Peru; 24 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister-in-law, Herbert and Irma Becraft, Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were a brother, a sister, and one grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary Webster St. Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. The Revs. Melvin Eller and Algie VanWinkle will officiate. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery, with full military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 255 serice at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 255.

Obituary

Betty E. (Becraft) Bess, 80, Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at her home. She was born March 4, 1931, in Kokomo, to Herman Alexander and Margaret (Bartholomew) Jurden.

She worked at Laughner Cafeteria for twelve years and at Chrysler for four years.

She is survived by three sons, Fredrick Becraft, Kenneth A. Becraft, and Bruce (Tammy) Becraft, all of Kokomo; four daughters, Sandra K. (Mike) Adams, Kokomo, Judith Diane (Tony) Salazar, Texas, Kimberly Sue (Mike Collins) Mathis, Kokomo, and Betty (Eric) Cunningham; one step-son, Criss Bess, Kokomo; one step-daughter, Donna (Randy) Baker, Kokomo; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one brother, William Jurden, Jr., Indianapolis; and one sister, Mary Mitchell, Richmond.

She was preceded in death by one son, George Bess, Jr.; one step-son, Gerald Bess; one step-daughter, Tina Bess; two granddaughters, Jeanette Cole, and Tularι Adams; one step-granddaughter, Brandi Walker; one brother, Kenneth Alexander; and three sisters, Shirley Riley, Roberta Weaver, and Sharon Harrison.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Burgei officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the or the .
