Howard Elmer Becraft, who resided near Mount Airy, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital Saturday afternoon at two o'clock of complications following a long illness. He was 69 year old.
Mr. Becraft was born near Mt. Airy, a son of the late John and Effie Becraft and had resided in this county many years. In former years he attended Trinity Methodist Church and Sunday School and was a retired employee of the B & O Railroad. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Lewis Becraft, and the following children; Miss Grace V., Edward L. and Arthur G. Becraft, all at home; and these sons by former marriages: Herbert E. Becraft, Virginia; Howard E. Becraft, Washington; Donald R. Becraft; U.S. army in Korea and Ira R. Becraft, Baltimore and Gilmore Becraft, Mt. Airy. One grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The body is at the funeral home, 8 East Patric Street, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Park. Please omit flowers. C. E. Cline & Son, funeral directors.

A 54-year-old woman injured in an auto accident May 29 died at the home of the relatives Friday one day after her release from Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Montgomery County Medical Examiner, Dr. F. E. Broschart, said Mrs. Lena M. Becraft, RFD 1, Mt. Airy, died when a blood clot in the veins of her right leg moved to the heart. He said the complications resulted from a head-on crash on the Woodville road last month.
A spokesman at the hospital said a blood clot moves through the circulatory system and is impossible to detect. Similar circumstances, the spokesman said can result from minor surgery, a severe bruise, etc.
At the time of the accident, Mrs. Becraft's injuries were listed as lacerations of the forehead, right elbow and possible chest injuries.
She was a passenter in a car driven by Lewis W. Fritz, 57, RFD 1, Mt. Airy.
Mrs. Becraft was released from the hospital Thursday and was living with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lighter, Lewisdale. She was pronounced dead shortly after 7 p.m. Friday.
She is survived by three children: Mrs. Grace Lighter, Lewisdale; Arthur Becraft and Lee Becraft, both at home; three sistes, Mrs. Helen Draper, Thrurmont; Mrs. Annabell Hoffman, Graceham; and Mrs. Geneva Hoffman, Mt. Airy; six brothers, Paul, Edwin, Sherman, Leo, Tunis and Lewis; two step-sons, Donald Becraft, Washington state and Ira Becraft of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.
The body rests at the Gladhill Funeral home in Middletown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today conducted by Rev. Ervin Martin. Interment in Frederick Memorial Park.
