General Notes: Husband - Robert E "Bob" Greene
Father of Leona B Green(Becraft) and Jessie L Green (Branscum). Wife, Leona Brown (Green), preceded him in death in March of 1890. She is buried in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall MO, in a plot shared with her mother, Anna G Willis (Brown) Hutcherson, and her daughter, Leona B Green Becraft. The infant, Leona, was raised by her grandmother, in the Hutcherson household in Marshall.
Mr Green raised his daughter, Jessie, in Blackburn with the help of his sister Molly Trent. He owned a Livery Stable in the community for many years. Jesse was the mother of Dorothy Lee and Mary Leona Branscum.
General Notes: Wife - Leona Brown
This bio was provided by a half-grand niece, thus the reference of "Aunt".
The Aunt Leona I was speaking of was born March 4, 1890 to Leona Brown Greene and Robert Greene. Her mother was the daughter of Anna Garnett Willis (Graves) Brown (Hutcherson) and the late Capt Ed Brown. Leona Brown Greene died in 1890 when Aunt Leona B Greene (Becraft) was born. Aunt Leona's sister, Jesse and father, Robert continued to live in the Blackburn, MO area; her aunt Lula Brown Tomlinson lived in Texas. So, Aunt Leona (I called her 'Onie') was raised in the same household as our grandparents, since her grandmother had married William Hutcherson after Capt Brown's death. So, yes, Leona Brown Greene (1863-1890) was the half-sister of our grandparents---and her namesake, Leona B Greene Becraft (1890-1987), although near their ages would've been their half-neice and our parents' first cousin. Since she married Laban Walker Becraft, Lillian G Becraft Hutcherson's brother, she also became my great aunt.
