No date is given when he started re-writing his notes, putting them into a more detailed form. Judging from a notation written near the end of the entries he made, it must have been in the late 1930's when he worked on this summary of his life. Under the date March 16, 1913, while mentioning that he spoke at the funeral for Sarah Beecroft Naegle, he also noted that she was the only sister of William Chess Beecroft, "who was a pardner [sic] with me in the new and Secondhand furniture business for twenty-five years, located at 1110 G Avenue, Douglas, Arizona." This is not an accurate date-fixing; it is only an assumption. However, it does indicate that he wrote his entry after the partnership had ended in 1935. It was in February of that year that Beecroft's son in law, Cal Harrell
came into the business.
