• Her obituary was published. Velma Becraft, 54, of Waihe?e, Maui was found on May 20th 2020 at her residence just 4 days before her 55th birthday. Velma was born on May 24th 1965, in Kamaoa-Ka'u. She graduated from Ka?u High school in 1983.
She was a Veteran of the United States Army, the Chief of Operations at the Cameron Center for over 15 years, and one of the co-founders of Na Koa Kahiko Wahine Veterans club on Maui. She was a strong, beautiful, and resilient Mother and Yaya.
She is survived by her only child Sloan Becraft; Siblings Joy (Stanley Williams) Ah Yee, Dawnalynn (Henry) Waiwaiole Jr., Herman (Louann) Ah Yee Jr all of Naalehu, Naomi (Lawrence) Smith Jr. , of Lawrenceville, Ga.; One grand child Kana?i Becraft Silva, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on May 20th 2021 at Hope DIA-mend Ministries in Oceanview, Ka?u at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Hilo veterans Cemetery on May 21st. Due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, we the family of Velma Becraft kindly requests to wear your masks and apply social distancing at all times. Flowers are welcome and to wear casual attire.
