Ruth Beecroft of Corvallis died Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Corvallis Manor. She was 96.
McHenry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Beecroft of Corvallis died Aug. 21 at Corvallis Manor. She was 96.
She was born in Colton, Wash., to Enoch Tazewell and Etta Ophelia Ricketts Cyrus. She was raised and educated in Peck, Idaho, and graduated from high school there. She moved to Roseburg after graduation to be with her aunt and worked there as a waitress. She married Charles "Cotton" Beecroft in 1931. He died in 1970. She retired from Douglas County Hospital in 1971. She moved to Corvallis in 1987.
She had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseburg.
Survivors include her sons, James of Corvallis and Charles of Coos Bay; daughters, Judy Page of Lake Oswego and Joyce Mast of Fairbanks, Alaska; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, followed by an 11 a.m. service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseburg. Pastor Phillip Brandt will officiate. Interment will be at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
