OROVILLE, March 12. -- Howard A. Gillett, 37, Western Pacific engineer, died suddenly Saturday night at his home in Oroville. He had been in the railroad emply for 17 years.

Gillett was born in Blue Earth City, Minn. He is survived by his widow, Millie F. Gillett; a son, 12, and one daughter, aged 7. He also leaves several brothers and sisters and is a nephew of F. A. Beecroft of Sutter City.

He was a member of I.O.O.F. lodge of Oroville, and of the Brotherhood of Firemen and Locomotive Engineers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday.
