The sad news was received on Saturday by Cr. R. A. Struck, Shire President, that his father, Mr. John William Struck, had died' that morning at the fine old age of 82 years. Cr. Struck made a special trip to Sydney on the previous Wednesday when he heard that his Dad was ill, and found him looking quite all right. The news of his demise was therefore In a way quite unexpected. The late Mr. Struck, who had been in retirement for many years, had resided for over half a century in Rozelle (Sydney). He was a foundation member of the Waterside Workers' Union and was one of the leaders with Billy Hughes in the 1890 strike. He is survived by bis wife of a second marriage and eleven children.
