• He worked as a farmer and a carpenter. He hauled heavy timbers from the mill at Goshen by oxcart to the site of
the new Methodist Episcopal Chapel. In Sloatsburg, they were cut and hewn for a frame building 30 x 40. He built a number of homes in Sloatsburg. Farm shown on the 1854 Rockland County map.
