Raymond J. Becraft, 64, a resident of Florence, Howard County, died suddenly Wednesday while working near Ellicott City with the Howard County Roads Department. His death was due to coronary occlusion, according to Dr. Charles S. Whitaker, of Clarksville, deputy medical examiner.
Mr. Becraft was born in Howard County, a son of the late Raymond J and Elizabeth Phelps Becraft. He was a World I veteran and member of the I.O.O.F. Baltimore Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Becraft, and these children, raymond J. Jr., at home; Mrs. Irene Burriss, Silver Spring; Arnold Becraft, Florence; Larue and Roland Becraft at home. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
The body is at the funeral home in Winfield, where services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. Winfield Hall. Internment will be in Jennings Chapel cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon on Friday. C.M. Waltz funeral director.

Funeral services were held July 2, 1955 for the late Raymond J. Becraft who died suddenly on July 20. The deceased who was 58 years old lives in Woodbine and worked for the Howard Co. Roads Department.
The Rev C. A. Micheal officiated at the services at Waltz Funeral Home. Interment was in Jennings Chapel Cemetery.
