Vernon Becraft, a respected young farmer, died at his home, near Damascus, Montgomery county, on June 4, after an illness of three weeks, aged 27 years, of typhoid fever. He leaves a wife and two young children. The funeral took place at Prospect church on Sunday at noon. Rev. Wm. Norwood conducted the service. The bearers were F. H. Duvall, Willis Carn, Harry Mercer, Edward Bellison, J. C. Watkins, W. C. Burdette. L. T. Lewis had charge of the funeral.
