• His obituary was published in The Norfolk Virginian Pilot on 15 May 1950. James Alfred Becraft, husband of Mrs. Ivey Davis Becraft, of 2108 Overbrook Avenue, died suddenly yesterday at 6:30 p.m. at the residence.
He was the son of Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Becraft and the late George C. Becraft of Norfolk. He was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and a member of Norview Baptist Church.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.J. Young and Miss Nancy G. Becraft, of Norfolk; three sons, James H. and Luther E. Becraft, of Norfolk, and Wesley D. Becraft, of Geyserville, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lelia V. Ledoris and Miss Mary E. Becraft, of Norfolk; three brothers, E.C. Becraft, C.F. Becraft and R. B. Becraft, of Norfolk, and four grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home.
