In 1900, Henry was 16, single and living with his mother, Louise, in Utica. He was employed as a laborer in a mill. In 1910 and 1920, he was still single and still living with his mother. In 1920 worked as a plumber in a shop. In 1930, Henry was listed as head of household. He worked in the kitchen of a private club. His widowed mother lived with him. ¹
