She was born in Crockett, a daughter of Volney G. and Josephine Copenhaver King. She was a graduate of Kings Grove High School in Crockett and attended Martha Washington College in Abingdon. Eva had worked at Spiller Elementary School in Wytheville and for the Roanoke City Schools. She was a former member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wytheville and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Roanoke, where she was a member of the women's group and sang in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William BeCraft; three brothers and five sisters. Surviving are her son, Robert "Bob" V. BeCraft of Roanoke; her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn B. and Perry Day of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Angie Day Giallorenzi and her husband, Tom of Salt Lake City, UT, Clark A. BeCraft of Roanoke, Ginger B. Mitchell of Roanoke, and several nieces and nephews. She loved country and gospel music. The family would like to extend thanks to her friends at the Big House in Roanoke and Family Dance in Boones Mill. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's North Chapel Monday, March 2, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Albin P. Crutchfield Jr. officiating. Interment will be in West End Cemetery, Wytheville, with a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.
