• She appeared on the Federal census in 1900 in Scotland, Missouri, United States. John H Becraft, born abt 1850; Mary, 1880; William, 1882; Ethel, 1886.

• Her obituary was published. Ethel Leta Cossel, daughter of John Harrison and Sara Samantha Martin Becraft, was born August 11, 1885, in Davis County, Iowa and passed away June 16, 1981, at the Longmont United Hospital, Longmont, Colorado. She was 95 years of age.

February 28, 1910, she was married to William Frank Cossel and to this union, two children were born, Carl Lewis Cossel and Glen Harrison Cossel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, June 29, 1975; one son, Carl Lewis, September 9, 1954; two sisters, Maud Riney and Kate Farnsworth.

Surviving are one son, Glen Cossel, of Boulder, Colorado; two grandsons, Jack Cossel of Butte, Montana and Donald Cossel, of Longmont, Colorado; one brother, William Becraft, of Memphis, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Jackie Kay, Shawn Glen, Wendy Sue, Cristi and Michael.

At an earl(y) age she united with the Barker United Brethren Church, now Barker United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Cossel lived most of her life on the family farm in Scotland County. After her husband's death she moved to Boulder, Colorado to be near her family.

Funeral services were conducted by the Payne-Gerth Funeral Home from the Barker United Methodist Church.

Rev. Lowell Newland officiated. Burial was in the Barker Cemetery. Body bearers were Millard Becraft, Sydney Moore, Herschel Humphrey, Kinney Cossel, Edwin Cossel and Verne Spees. Pianist, Florence Weilbrenner. Vocalists, Elmer Weilbrenner, Helen Newland, Rosalie Gooden, and LaVerne Weilbrenner.
