Mrs. Flora Mirandie Stoup, eighty-one years old, wife of James Stoup, North Marshall street, died Monday night at her home. She was born in Michigan, June 14, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith, and was married to Mr. Stoup thirty-one years ago at Plymouth. She is survived by her husband and three children: Frank Beacraft, Phelps, Wis.; Ella Foust, Beloit, Wis.; Martin Foust, Black River, Wis. She leaves also one sister, Mrs. Susan Stoup of LaPaz, and one brother, William Smith of Illinois.
Funeral services were held this morning at the Huff Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. E. C. Reidenbach of Grace United Brethren church, followed by interment in Fairmount cemetery.

Elijah most likely moved with his parents to Michigan at the age of 14, but was not living with them by the time he was 18. At the age of 24, he married Flora, who was 14 years old and living with her parents in Vermontville, Michigan. The following year, their first child was born there. In 1885, they were living in Kentucky and by 1891 had moved to Wisconsin. On both the 1880 and 1900 censuses, Elijah's occupation was listed as farmer, but he may have worked for a railroad company as family tradition says that he died in Indiana while working for the railroad. 1

Flora first married Elijah F. Becraft ca. 1876 with whom she had six children: Eva A. (16 Nov 1878 - 7 Mar 1936), George H. (ca. 1879 - before 1900), James W. (b. Dec 1885), Laura Ella (16 Sep 1890 or 1891 - 14 Jan 1979, m. Chester Faust), John Franklin (1 Aug 1894 - 11 Sep 1961), Mary Agnes (3 Sep 1898 - 7 Sep 1970, m. name Burns)
Flora and Elijah appear with their children on the 1880 and 1900 Census records. Elijah appears to have died in the decade that followed.
Flora second married Martin Van Buren Faust in 1903. Martin was about 20 years older than Flora and had also been previously married. His wife Fidelia had died in 1902.
Their blended family appeared together on the 1905 Wisconsin State Census, living in Brockway, Jackson Co., Wisconsin. Martin V. Foust, 66, was noted as a farmer. Flora, aged 43, was keeping house. There with their father/step-father and mother/step-mother were Martin's two children--Artie, 19, and Pepa, 15; Flora's three children--Laura, 13, John Frank, 11, and Mary Agnes, 8, all listed with the Becraft surname and identified as Martin's step-children; and Flora and Martin's shared child, son Martin Jr., just 8 months old on 1 Jun 1905.
Flora third married James Stoup on 17 Nov 1909. As second-husband Martin Faust didn't died until 1920, it seems safe to assume that he and Flora parted ways between 1905 and 1909.
