Herbert E. Merson, of Burtonsville, this county, has been formally charged with perjury by the grand jury now in session here, and hsi case has been docketed for trial at the term of criminal court which begins here Thursday.
The indictment grew out of the marriage here several months ago, by Rev. O.C. Barnes, pastor of the Christian church, of Merson and Miss Clara E. Becraft, the charge being that in making application for the license Merson swore that the young girl was eighteen years old when he knew she was but fifteen.
