Richard J. Slack, who passed away in Toronto, on Thursday, March 16, 1944, in his 75th year, was born in Melancthon Township, being the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Slack, Sr. In 1900 he moved from Melancthon to Bond Head, later moving to Nobleton, and in 1921 to Toronto. At Bond Head he was married to Ida Baycroft, who predeceased him two years ago. One daughter, Beatrice, and two sons, George and Albert, survive. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Will and George Slack, Toronto; Sheriff T. K. Slack, Orangeville; Mrs. R. C. Burton (Annie), Toronto; Mrs. Wm. Harrison (Susie), Toronto; Mrs. W. E. Skelton (Ida), Toronto; Mrs. J. J. Lyon (Alice), Toronto; Miss Catherine Slack, Toronto. Interment took place in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, on Saturday afternoon, March 18th.
