• Her obituary was published in the Carroll County Times on 3 Apr 1958. Mrs. Sarah C. (Sadie) Stem, 73, wife of Charles Guy Stem, formerly of near Winfield, died Friday, March 28, 1958, at the home of a son, Francis A. Stem, Gaither Road, Sykesville, where she had resided for the past eight years.
Born in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late John L.
and Mary A. Williams. In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Pickett, Flohrville, and another son, John W. Stem, Sykesville; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the C. M. Waltz Funeral
Home, Winfield. The Rev. C. H. Shaw officiated. Burial was in
Ebenezer Cemetery, Winfield.
