Beecroft, 56 years old, pioneer moving picture producer and formerly business manager of the Exhibitors Herald, a movie trade magazine, committed suicide today by shooting himself through the head while standing alone in a hired rowboat 100 yards off Harbor Island Park, here.

NEW ROCHELLE, N. Y., Dec. 4, -- When Miss Veronica Barton, daughter of Charles Park Barton, a wealthy retired business man, failed to return from a shopping trip yesterday afternoon to her father's home, the Hedges, one of the show places on Long Island Sound, her parents worried and by nightfall were alarmed. This morning her relatives and friends were amazed to receive telegrams announcing her marriage yesterday to Albert Arthur Beecroft, a yachtsman, whose home in Pelham Manor.
Miss Barton and Beecroft had been friends for several years and had made a name in yachting circles for their clever hadling of the Vanitie, a racing yacht belonging to Judge Edgar Beecroft, young Mr. Beecroft's brother. The brother's father is John Robert Beecroft, at one time a Director of the Century Company.
It developed today that Miss Barton met Mr. Beecroft at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament here yesterday and they were married in the rectory by the Rev. Cornelius F. Crowley. They were attended by Miss Anna A. Coleman, daughter of Caryl Coleman, and Charles M. Collins of Pelham Manor. They left for the South on their honey moon trip.
The young woman's husband is a yachtsman of Pelliam Manor.
