Events

• His obituary was published in the Carroll County Times on 3 May 1940. William H. Barnes died suddenly Friday, April 26, 1940, from a cerebral hemorrhage at his home in Louisville, near Gamber, at the age of 52 years. He was the son of Lloyd Barnes and late Ida Jane Barnes. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mabel Barnes, who made her home with the father, and a brother Charles B. Barnes, Louisville. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 A.M. from the late residence with further rites in Mount Pleasant Methodist Church at 10:30 A.M. and burial in the cemetery adjoining. The Rev. Lee Williams officiated, assisted by the Rev. Benson. J. F. Eline & Sons, funeral directors.
