• His obituary was published in the Brookly Daily Eagle on 29 Jun 1900. The Death of Charles T Stansbury. Jamaica, L I June 29--Charles T Stansbury, for several years a resident of this place, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Isaac U Wyatt, last Wednesday [27 June] of the rare complaint, contraction of the esophagus. He slowly starved to death as no nourishment could be given the body. No food or stimulants had passed into the stomach for 3 weeks. Deceased was a brother of the Rev John L Stansbury of Northport, and at one time was a well known builder. He, years ago, resided in Rockville Center, where he built the public school of that place. He was in the 71st year of his age and three sons and a daughter survive him: James, Edward and Mrs I U Hyatt of Jamaica, and Chauncey Stansbury of Brooklyn. Of late he has been boss carpenter at the summer home of William Manice of Manhattan, situated on the Hempstead boulevard at Queens. Funeral services will be held this evening at the residence of Mrs Isaac U Hyatt, the daughter on Union Hall Street and interment will be made on Saturday at Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead.
