The following was reported to me, James Owen Beecroft, by Sarah Ellen Naegle Brimhall on 17 M arch, 2002. Sarah got her information from her father, Lawrence Heber Naegle, who was a first cousin of Irl Robert Beecroft and reportedly his 'Best Friend':

Before his tragic accident in the Douglas Smeltry, Irl had a dream. In this dream he was tol d to get his affairs in order, as the Lord had a special mission for him. Irl worked hard to put all his affairs in order, and the day before the accident, he reportedly told his wife, Ruth, 'I now have everything in order. The Lord can do with me what he wants.' The next day, a trainee in a crane mistakenly pulled the wrong lever and doused Irl with molten slag. Fatally burned and dying, Irl lay on the smeltry floor. Lawrence, his best friend and cousin, was at his side nearly immediately. Before dying, he confided in Lawrence that he had been called on a special mission in the Spirit World.
