TROUBLES IN FAMILY DRIVE WARSAW MAN TO ATTEMPT SUICIDE

Homer Beecraft, Unable to Bear Turmoil in his Home, Takes Ineffective Dose of Corrosive Sublimate

Desperate because of continued domestic quarrels and the announcement on the part of his wife that she would not live with him, Homer Becraft, a teamster of this city, made an attempt to take his life by swallowing a quantity of corrosive sublimate at his home over Ripple's implement store at Main and Buffalo streets.

The act followed a long series of quarrels which it is said were brought to an acute point when Becraft returned home Saturday from Fort Wayne where he had been working. Much of the time yesterday, it is said was spent by Becraft and his wife in recriminations and personal abuse and finally Mrs. Becraft announced that she would no longer live with her husband.

This morning, he secured a quantity of corrosive sublimate and attempted to dissolve it in a drinking glass but just as he raised it to his mouth, his wife suspecting his purpose dashed it out of his hand.

Dr. Hines was hurriedly summoned and found the patient was in no immediate danger, because of the fact that the poision had not dissolved readily in the glass and the weak solution which Becraft had swallowed had done little more than burn his mouth and throat rather painfully but not dangerously.

He was given medical attention and left to the contemplation of his foolish act and the possibilities for future domestic felicity.
