James Alec Becraft

James Alec Becraft Sr., 80, of Monroe, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16, 2003, at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village.

He was born on Feb, 9, 1923, in Mount Sterling, Ky., the son of Pete Becraft and Esther (Ringo) Becraft. Mr. Becraft was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He worked as a machine operator for Inland Container for 25 years.

Mr. Becraft is survived by two daughters, Charlotte G. (husband Bill) Mullins of Dayton, and Vicki E. (husband Mike) Schubert of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Leslie Young, Bill Mullins Jr., Elise Mullins, Zeke Irving, Abby Irving, Clay Becraft, and Amanda Becraft; four great-grandchildren, Ted Young, Joe Young, Will Mullins and Katie Mullins; a sister, Nellie Lacey of Bryantown, Md.; a brother, Jack (wife, Christine) Becraft of Jeffersonville, Ky.; and a stepdaughter, Dana Pruitt of Trenton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lena Becraft in 1999; his son, James Alec Becraft Jr.; three sisters, Opal, Rosie, and Flora; and a brother, Ellis.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. James R. Compton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mound Cemetery, Monroe.

MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Pleasant Life Care Fund, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, Ohio 45050; or Hospice of Dayton, P.O. Box 3509, Dayton, Ohio 45401-3509.
