The death of Charles C. Becraft of No. 132 North Third Street, one of Olean's most highly esteemed residents occurred this morning at 7:30 o'clock at his residence following a stroke of paralysis, which he suffered on Wednesday.

Charles Becraft came to Olean from Sayre, Pa., 16 years ago. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist church and had served as deacon for a number of years. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Mr. Becraft was of a retiring disposition and was a man of high personal character. By his sterling qualities and courteous manner, he endeared himself to all those who came in contact with him. For a number of years he had been engaged as painter at the Pennsylvania car shops, and was held in the highest respect by his fellow workmen.

He leaves his wife, two sons, L.E. Becraft of Acron O., and Vincent Becraft at home; two brothers G. W. Becraft and J.C. Becraft of Sayre, PA., also one sister, Mrs. W. M. Palmer of Sayre, Pa.

Charles C. Becraft

Charles C. Becraft, 51 years old, died this morning at 7:30 at his home, 132 North Third street, after suffering a stroke last Wednesday. He was employed by the Pennsylvania railroad up to his recent illness, coming here from Sayre, Pa., sixteen years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist church, where he had been a deacon for a number of years.

He is survived by his widow, two sons, L.E. Becraft of Akron, Ohio, and Vincent Becraft of Olean; two brothers, G. W. Becraft and J.C. Becraft of Sayre, Pa. and one sister Mrs. W.M. Palmer of Sayre, Pa.

Mr. Becraft was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. The funeral announcement will be made later.
