The graves of William and America Ann are covered with two large rocks in the form of an invert "V" with the initials W.C. and A.C. scratched on them.

General Notes: Husband - William Calvert

---

William Calvert is said to have had 26 or 28 children. Descendants state that several children died in a typhoid epidemic while they lived on Ryans Creek. Since no other children can be found in Census records, Probate, land deeds, or estate records, it is likely that they died very young or at birth. It is believed that William and his family moved up on Brushy Pond Mountain because of the typhoid fever.
