Vernon Burdette of near Clagettsvill, Montgomery County, died Friday morning in the Frederick City Hospital at the age of 63 years, 8 months, 29 days. He was a son of the late Perry G. and Lucinda Burdette and is survived by hsi widow, Mrs. Mary J. Burdette; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Pickett, Silver Spring; Miss Hazel Burdette, at home; four brothers, William of Clagettsville; Arthur of Popular Springs; Robert of Long Corner; Amos of Damascus; one sister, Mrs. George Pickett, Ridgeville. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, the cortege meeting at the late residence at 1:30 p.m. Further services will be held at Howard Chapel Methodist church, near Long Corner, Howard County, Rev. Eddy L. Ford, assisted by Rev. B.I. Barnes, officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. C.M. Waltz, funeral director.
