Funeral at Launceston
The funeral of Mr. William Robert Beecroft was held at Launceston yesterday. Services at the home and graveside were conducted by the Rev. J. L. Hurse (military chaplain). St. Joseph's band and members of the Returned Sailors' and Soldiers League and militia preceded the hearse. The president of the Launceston sub-branch (Mr. A. J. McKenzie) read the special returned soldiers' service, and placed a poppy in the grave. The chief mourners were Mr. B. Beecroft, Messrs. William, Allan, Arthur, Jack, Boswell, Donald (sons), Misses May and June Beecroft (daughters). Messrs. R. Beecroft (brother), Walter and Allen Hollingsworth, M.H.A. (brothers-in-law), R. Airey (uncle), Walter, Owen and John
Hollingsworth (nephews). The pall-bearers were Major A. A. Evans, M.L.C., Mr. Wilson (A.I.F. Originals). Messrs. R. Reedman, C. Moore (9th Battalion,
A-I.K), Colonel A.V. Fotheringham, Messrs. Newey (Old Comrades' Association), J. Cummings, Mason (Railway Returned Soldiers' Association), H. Mahon, A.V. Clarke (St. Joseph's Band). Four sergeants from the sergeants' Mess, Launceston Barracks, were bearers. Funeral arrangements were carried out by Armitage and Armitage, Launceston.

(Bob) Beecroft, late 12th/50th Battalion, C.M.F., and No. 1 Squadron Flying Corps, A.I.F., wish to thank all relatives, friends, and organizations for their very kind expressions of sympathy intheir sad and sudden loss, especially thanking the sister and nurse on night duty, June 2. Sir John Ramsay, doctors, matron, and nursing staff of the Public Hospital, for attention during December 16 to February 23, and to Mr. D. Armitage, for his courteous attention.
