Stephen married Marie Arsenault, a daughter of Gilbert Arsenault and Appoline (Gallant) Arsenault, on November 27, 1877 in Baie-Egmont, Prince Edward Island. They had seventeen children, at least 13 of which survived to adulthood.

Marie married Etienne Arsenault on November 27, 1877 in Egmont Bay, Prince Edward Island. Together they had seventeen children, at least 13 of which survived to adulthood. After his death she married Celestin Cormier, probably in Adamsville, New Brunswick.
