Dr. Wayne Arthur Beecroft, DDS, MD, FRCSC, FACS.
On Wednesday, April 24, 1991, at the Health Sciences Centre, Dr. Wayne Arthur Beecroft, aged 44 years, of Winnipeg. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife Heather, his son Chris, and his loving parents, Melville and Orris Beecroft, his brother Dr. John and Sister-in-law Roberta, three nephews; Rob, Andy and Marty Beecroft, all of Barrie, Ontario, his mother-in-law, Helen Menzies of Fergus, Ontario, brother-in-law, Sandy and his wife Susan Menzies of Ottawa, Ontario. Wayne graduated from Upper Canada College, Toronto in 1965. In 1970 he graduated with honors Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, and immediately following entered Medical School, University of Western Ontario and graduated "cum laude", 1974. He followed that with an internship at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto and completed his surgical residency program 1979. Subsequently he did 2 years post graduate training at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Westminster Hospital, London, England and Roswell Park Memorial Institute, Buffalo, N.Y. In 1981 he entered full time clinical practice at the Health Scoences Centre, Manitoba Cancer Foundation and as a professor with the Dept. of Surgery at University of Manitoba. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to: The Wayne Beecroft Lectureship in Surgery, c/o Dept. of Surgery, H.S.C.,G.C.409, 820 Sherbrook Street, Winipeg R3A 1R9. Memorial Service 1:30 PM, Friday, April 26, 1991 at Westminster United Church, Winnipeg, with Rev. Ian Shaw and Rev. R. Campbell officiating. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to follow Sunday, April 28, 1991 at 2 PM at Central United Church, 54 Ross Street (beside Royal Victoria Hospital) Barrie, Ontario, Bardal Funeral Home, Winipeg, in care of arrangements, 774-7474.
