He was born June 4, 1916, in rural Almena, the eldest son of James and Louise (Miller) Beecroft. He attended Hay River Valley School through eighth grade. He began working fulltime on the family farm.
He moved to St. Paul, Minn., and worked at Armour Meat Packing Company, South St. Paul.
On Jan. 20, 1940, he married Grace Frenstad at Stillwater, Minn. They soon moved to Turtle Lake and then to Almena. He owned and operated Almena Dray Line before Wanner Hardware Store.
The family moved to Rice Lake for a few years, where he was a fireman for the City of Rice Lake. He returned to Almena, working at Wanner Plumbing and Heating. Later, he managed the Almena Co-op Hardware Store until his retirement.
Ronald was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Almena Volunteer Fire Department, Almena Commercial Club and was active in community life. While serving as chief of the Almena Fire Department, he was secretary for the Heart of the North Fireman's Association. He also served on the school board of the Barron, Almena, Dallas, Ridgeland Area Schools when the district was consolidated.
Surviving are a son, James (Gretchen) of St. Paul; a daughter, Janice (Ronald) Johnston of Wapello; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester (Annabelle) of Newberg, Ore., and Charles (June) of Bloomington, Minn.; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rev. Joe and Mrs. Velma Hoelter and family. He also cherished the friendship of many special friends in the Barron County area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years; and sisters, Myra Manula and Leona Beecroft.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Almena, Rev. Norman Peterson officiating, with burial at Lakeview Cemetery, Turtle Lake.
Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Saturday from Rausch-Rockman Funeral Home, Barron, and an hour prior to services at the church Sunday.

Ronald James Beecroft, 90, of Almena died Nov. 4 at his daughter's home in Wapello, Iowa. Funeral services were Sunday at St. Matthew Lutheran Cjurch in Almena, with the Rev. Norman Peterson officiating and burial at Lake View Cemetery in Turtle Lake.
Mr. Beecroft was born June 4, 1916 in rural Almena to James and Louise (Miller) Beecroft. He attended Hay River Valley School through eighth grade and then worked full time on the family farm. Mr. Beecroft later moved to St. Paul and worked at Armour Meat Packing Co. in St. Paul. On Jan. 20, 1940 he married Grace Frenstad in Stillwater, Minn. The couple soon moved to Turtle Lake and then to Almena. Mr. Beecroft owned and operated Almena Dray Line before Wanner Hardware Store. The family lived in Rice Lake for a few years, where Mr. Beecroft was a fireman for the City of Rice Lake, and then returned to Almena, where he worked at Wanner Plumbing and Heating. He later managed Almena Co-op Hardware Store until his retirement. He was a member of the Almena Volunteer Fire Department and the Almena Commercial Club. He is survived by a son, James of St. Paul; a daughter, Janice Johnston of Wapello; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lester of Newberg, Ore., and Charles of Bloomington, Minn. Grace L. Beecroft, 88, Almena, Wis., died Friday, June 10, 2005, at Barron Riverside Manor.
She was born March 26, 1917, at Almena, the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Johnson) Frenstad. She moved to St. Paul, Minn., as a child and graduated from St. Paul Central High School. She then worked in St. Paul doing office work.
On Jan. 20, 1940, she married Ronald Beecroft at Stillwater, Minn. They lived in St. Paul for several years before moving to Turtle Lake and later to Almena. After her children were in school, she worked in the office at Herbergers Department Store, Rice Lake. She became the office manager and remained there until her retirement.
She enjoyed gardening, especially raising berries. She also enjoyed quilting and made wonderful candy. She was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Almena.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, James (Gretchen) Beecroft of St. Paul; a daughter, Janice (Ronald) Johnston of Waupello, Iowa; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; dear friends, the Rev. Joel Hoelter family; and many other special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kenneth and Martin Frenstad.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Rev. Norman Peterson officiating, with burial at Lakeview Cemetery, Turtle Lake. Visitation was held 4-8 p.m. Monday from Rausch-Rockman Funeral Home, Barron.
