The long and fulfilling life of Warren E. Beecroft ended in the late hours of June 1, 2018. He was just 24 days away from celebrating his 98th birthday, a goal he very much wanted to achieve.

Warren came to this country with his mother at a young age, from Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, first moving to Vancouver and then settling in Blaine, WA, where he went to school and graduated from Blaine High School where he was a respected member of the track team.

Things were hard for Warren back then and he got a job as a Soda Jerk in a drug store in Bellingham. That job helped him put himself through the first couple of years at Western Washington University, until Uncle Sam called him to service. He then went off to become part of the Greatest Generation as a member of the proud and furious 447th Bomb Group. He served as a Bombardier on the famed B-17 Flying Fortress.

After the war, he returned home and picked up where he left off at Western Washington University and met his wife of 72 years, Juanita Anderson. He then began the career that he loved and respected for the next 35 years, being a teacher and school administrator.

From the small town of Marblemount, WA to the big city of Federal Way, WA, passion and understanding of kids always showed through in his work.

Warren had a gift and passion for gardening, in particular his beloved tomatoes and roses. During the summer, family and friends were never shorted in him sharing his tomato crops.

Warren is survived by his wife, Juanita and his three children: Craig, Kelli (Rick) Drouet and Cyd (Jim) Wohlhueter.

Warren leaves behind seven grandchildren: Lindsey Johnson (Ron), Lacey Hedin (Nathan), Andrew Drouet (Lauren), Randy Wohlhueter, Ross Wohlhueter, Darcie Cantor (Anthony) and Jason Beecroft. He also leaves behind five great-grandchildren.

He always felt he was a fortunate man and always appreciated the opportunities that life presented him. The optimism with which he lived his long life is ours to carry forward. He loved his family and we will miss him.
