Robert Leonard Beecroft was born in Douglas, Arizona on June 13, 1930, to Ruth Huish Beecroft and Robert Irl Beecroft. He died of pancreatic cancer at his home in San Diego, California, on November 24, 2000.After growing up in Douglas he moved with his family to Provo, Utah, where he attended Brigham Young University, graduating in political science.
