News Death Notice

ALFREY, Mary Bess age 88 of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 10, 2009 at her residence. She was born March 7, 1920 in Salt Lick, Kentucky the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Becraft. "Bess" was a faithful member of the Yankee Road First Church of God for many years where she had been a Sunday School teacher and actively participated in many aspects of her church. She had received the honor of "Silver Saint" for her dedication, and will be remembered as a wonderful Christian mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved caring for her family. Mary is survived by her daughter, Janet (husband, Stephan) Shaw of Middletown; two sons, Ken (wife, Veronica) Alfrey of New Berlin, Wisconsin and Ronald (wife, Vicki) Alfrey of Middletown; a granddaughter, Amber (husband, Donald) Mulligan of Middletown; two great granddaughters, Marisa Wade and Kasey Robinson; a sister, Edna Mann of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the Yankee Road First Church of God with Reverend Kevin Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 PM Saturday, at the church. Interment will be at the Woodside Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Yankee Road First Church of God. Arrangements are by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
