John Frederick Beecroft, 32, was born Dec. 5, 1979, in Corvallis and died on June 12, 2012. He resided in McMinnville, Oregon. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Madeleine Beecroft, and his siblings, Elizabeth, Sarah and Thomas. John graduated from West Albany High School in 1997 and joined the Army that same year. He spent seven years in the Army. He was with the 101st Airborne Division and 1st Armored Division. He served in the Iraq war and was honorably discharged. John was involved in the family iris business and built and maintained the Iris Fan business website. He attended Linn-Benton Community College and graduated in June 2012 as a Radiology Tech. He was the first person in the program to obtain a temporary state license before graduating the program with honors. He completed his internship and worked at the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon. He was a whiz at computers and enjoyed building computers from scratch for friends and family. He enjoyed movies, multiplayer computer games and target shooting. He had a dry sense of humor, friendly smile and was a kind and compassionate son, brother and friend. Local services will be held at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis on Tuesday, June 19, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, on Wednesday, June 20, at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
