• Her obituary was published in The New Haven Register. Ida M. (Drake) Becroft, 82, was granted her angel wings on Friday, April 7, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Forever in our hearts, she will always be our Sunshine! Ida is survived by her seven children: Cheryl, Debra, Daniel, Charles, Lori, Tami, and Michele. Ida was born on September 10, 1934 to Gilbert and Frances Drake, and was also one of seven children. Ida is also survived by her loving sister and brother, Barbara Jensen and Charles Drake. She is predeceased by three brothers, George, Howard, and John Waldron, and her sister, Dorothy Pesapane. In nurturing Ida's creative side, she could often be found making treasures for her beloved family and friends. Ida was also a Scrabble enthusiast and fond memories of those times are forever cherished. Cooking was another favorite, but mostly because she enjoyed the family time around the dinner table or out on the deck. A mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, she is greatly missed and lives in our hearts forever. A memorial service in celebration of Ida's life will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. Services will follow immediately at 6 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately.
