• His obituary was published in the www.glinskyfuneralhome.com in 2008. Jack E. Beecroft, 73, of Montdale, died Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness. His wife of 42 years, Sandra Koss Beecroft, died March 2, 2002.

Born in Frackville, son of the late William and Hazel Lamb Beecroft, he served in both the Merchant Marine and the Navy, serving aboard the USS Higbee. Before retirement, he was employed as an electrician for 36 years by Chrysler Corp. and General Dynamics Land Systems Division, where he also served as a United Auto Workers union representative. After retirement, he was elected supervisor for Scott Township and held the position of police commissioner. He and his late wife, Sandra, owned and operated York's Gas Station in Montdale, through which they proudly sponsored a Lakeland girls junior softball team. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Montdale, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan who enjoyed trips to Florida and Atlantic City.

The family wishes to thank the staff of VNA Hospice, especially Amy, Tim and Tom, for their constant support and the loving care they provided.

Surviving are two daughters, Jackie Bores and husband, Jim, Montdale; and Alexandra McConnell, Carbondale; a son, Jack and wife, Susan, Montdale; eight grandchildren, Kelly Tuttle and husband, Robert; Michele Gill and husband, Glynn; Joey Fenwick; Andrew and Amanda McConnell; Sarah, Dana and Jessica Beecroft; three great-grandchildren, Robert Tuttle II, Courtlynn Jade and Carlyle Gauge Gill; two sisters, Betty and Linda, Florida; and a brother, Robert, California.

He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer; two sisters, Joan and Charlotte; and a brother, William.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Montdale.

Friends may call Tuesday, 9 until service time, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice Care Center, 301 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, 18447; or Lakeland Girls Softball League, c/o Marsha Tweedy, 1436 Layton Road, Clarks Summit, 18411.
