Harry N. Beecroft, 93, of Frackville, passed away Monday at the Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center.

Born in Frackville, Sept. 23, 1918, he was a son of the late Robert J. and Ethel Temple Beecroft. He attended Frackville schools.

He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, the Rev. James A. Hogan Council 2580, Frackville, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was a veteran of the Navy, having served during World War II on the U.S.S. Warren and obtained the rank of coxwain. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and received a Letter of Citation from the ship's commander for acts above self, Amphibious Force Insignia and Campaign Ribbons with four bronze stars.

Harry worked as a sewing machine operator at the former Charles Rabin Garment Factory, Frackville, for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Baran; and two brothers, John and James Beecroft.

Harry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen J. Kordys Beecroft; his son, Robert J. and his wife, Joan Beecroft; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Beecroft; a brother, Joseph Beecroft, all of Frackville; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, with the Rev. Robert Finlan as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Albert L. Grikoski Funeral Home, Frackville, is in charge of arrangements.

Helen J. Kordys Beecroft, 92, of Frackville, passed away Wednesday evening at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.

Born in New Boston, April 21, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Kordys and Henrietta Bronick Urin Kordys Brusiewski.

Helen and her sister, Mary, co-owned the former Stan-Croft Store, Saint Clair. She also worked as a seamstress for the former Philip Jones garment factory, Pottsville, and the former Model Garment factory, Frackville.

She was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, and St. Ann's Ladies Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harry N. Beecroft, on Feb. 27, 2012?; two sisters, Sophie Alexander and Ginger Examitas; and a brother, Leo Brusiewski.

Helen is survived by her son, Robert Beecroft and his wife, Joan; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Beecroft, Frackville; three sisters, Mary Stank, Frackville, Florence Kaledas, Mahanoy City, and Betty Tokash, Saint Clair; a brother, John Brusiewski, New Jersey; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, with the Rev. Robert Finlan, pastor, as the celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
