Glen A. Beecroft, 82, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2020, in his home in Taylor, Arizona.
Glen is survived by his wife, Delna Margaret McClellan Beecroft; his children, Karla Beecroft, Lisa (Lloyd) Wilkins, Gayle Beecroft, Robin Leigh Beecroft, Danielle (Rich) Simon; and his brother Charles William "Bill" (Jo) Beecroft. He is predeceased by his sister Myrtle "June" (Ralph) Martineau; his brother Jack Turley (Marilyn) Beecroft; his sisters "Bette" Lee (Anthony C.) Whetten and Muriel "Lynette" (Horace "Doc" Owens); and his son, Jody Lane (Rachel) Beecroft.
He was born in Colonia Garcia, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 21, 1938, son of the late Albert Farnsworth Beecroft and Pauline Turley. He graduated from Texas Western (UTEP) with a degree in Accounting. He also attended Brigham Young University with a baseball sports scholarship. On June 21, 1962 he married Delna, whom he met and fell in love with while attending BYU. From 1963 to 1976, he fathered five daughters and one son respectively, who were the most important part of his life.
Glen was a devoted father, community and religious leader. He served an LDS mission to the Andes and Chilean South American Mission from 1959-1962. He served as LDS Bishop to the El Paso, TX 4th Ward and was a High Counselor in the El Paso Stake. He also served as a Branch President to the Ysleta Branch in Fabens, TX. His community leadership services included serving as Member of White Mtn Regional Development Corp and Regional Athletic Director for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glen taught LDS Seminary in both California and Texas. He also loved serving as Mayor of Taylor, AZ. Aside from loving missionary work, he was a sports enthusiast and a huge fan of BYU athletics. Glen is locally well known for his home cooked Cajun turkeys and beef jerky. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors, teaching his children how to drive a stick shift, and loved throwing a baseball around with his son. He was extremely kind, hardworking and willing to serve. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 9th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 84 E. 19th St., Snowflake, AZ. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, July 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery, located at 400 Center St. in Taylor, AZ.

Delna Margaret McClellan Beecroft, age 81, died peacefully in her home in Taylor, AZ surrounded by family members in the early morning hours on Christmas Day, 2021 after a brief, yet courageous battle with aggressive cancer.
Delna was born on February 7, 1940, in Hayward, CA to D. Ross McClellan and Margaret Stewart and was the second oldest of five children. She attended and graduated high school at Hayward High School, then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT where she met, fell in love with, and married Glen A. Beecroft who was her loving partner for 58 years until he passed away in June 2020.
Delna is survived by 5 of her 6 children and 10 grandchildren, in addition to 6 honorary grandchildren. Her only son, Jody Lane Beecroft passed away in November 2001.
Besides spending time with her loved ones, Delna enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities. She was an avid journaler and dedicated temple worker for the LDS church. She enjoyed making greeting cards for her loved ones and was an extremely hard worker that finished a project to the end. She touched many lives with her compassion and service for others.

Delna McClellan, daughter of the D. Ross McClellans, has arrived home from Montevideo, Uruguay where she has been living for the past year, to make plans for her June 21 marriage to Glen A. Beecroft of El Paso, Texas.
The pair's engagement was revealed in Montevideo when the young man completed a mission for the Later-day Saints Church in Chile, and was the McClellan's guest before returning to the States.
His father is Albert Beecroft of Heber, Ariz. his mother is deceased.
The bridegroom-to-be served as second counselor to President A. Delbert Palmer of the Chilean Mission. He and Delna met in Provo, Utah when both were students at the Brigham Young University.
Delna's father, Hayward area building contractor and bishop in the church, is currently on assignment as supervisor of construction for the LDS church in the South American countries.
The bride-to-be, her twin sister and brother, Sharleen and Sheldon, and another brother Norman, accompanied their parents to Montevideo and shortly afterward Sheldon was called on a mission to Lima, Peru.
Another sister, Mrs. Thomas Green and her husband are residing in the family home on D Stree in Hayward in their absence.
Delna and Sharleen toured South America before flying from Montevideo with Glen. They visited in Lima with Sheldon during their travels while their mother flew directly home to begin preparations for her daughter's marriage.
Glen will arrive tomorrow from Arizona to enter into prewedding festivities in this area. The pair's vows wil be made in the LDS Temple in Los Angeles and a June 23 recption in the Hayward Ward chapel which her father helped construct, will honor the couple.
Glen's Brother Jack T. Beecroft and his wife of El Paso, will rendezvous with the wedding party in Los Angeles to accompany them through the Temple.
With them also will be the bride's grandparents Bishop and Mrs. Owen L. Stewart of Hayward. Delna's marriage occurs within a few days of the Stewarts' golden wedding anniversary which the family later will help them observe.
After their recption, the couple will depart for El Paso where they will make their home. The prospective bride-groom, who works there in his brother's firm, also plans to continue hs schooling at Texas Western.
Delna is a ayward High School graduate and after two years at the BYU, enrolled at Heald's Business College where she was a student at the time of her departure for Uruguay last June.• Marriage: Oakland Tribune, 20 Jun 1962. Licenses Issued
