George Fred Beecroft, bookbinder

George Fred Beecroft, 91, of Warrenton, died Sept. 20 at Fauquier Hospital.

He was born Jan. 30, 1913, in Springfield, Ill., a son of the late Gridham E. Beecroft and Stella Grundy Beecroft. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Regina Beecroft, and a grandson, Edward G. Strike.

Mr. Beecroft was retired as a Master Bookbinder with the Government Printing Office after 40 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Jean T. Beecroft of Warrenton; one daughter, Joyce L. Arndt of Stafford; three grandchildren that he helped raise, John P. Strike of Warrenton, Joy L. Ramsey of Manassas, and Nonie K. Strike of Ashburn; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 24 at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, with interment at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warrenton Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 3370, Warrenton VA 20188.

• Her obituary was published. Jean Beecroft passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
Jean was born in Brunswick, Missouri on January 5, 1921 to the late Temple E. Huyett and Mag R. Huyett. In addition to her parents Jean was predeceased by husbands O. Turner Grimsley, Roger L. Titus, George F. Beecroft, Son and daughter-in-law Turner Eugene Grimsley and Bonnie M. Grimsley.
When Jean was four years old she and her parents moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she remained until her graduation from Paseo High School in 1938. Jean moved to Virginia in July 1938 where she settled into her parent's home in Midland, VA while traveling weekly to Washington, DC working in retail and pursuing her interest in art. It was in Warrenton where she met and married her husband of 30 years, Turner Grimsley, and raised two sons of which almost ten of those years they lived and were the custodians for the County Jail on Main Street in Warrenton. Jean's work career included providing services as an Auction Clerk, Census Taker, a clerical position with the NSA at Vint Hill Farms Station, positions with Drug Fair, Rhodes Drug Store and lastly as a receptionist at Fauquier Hospital.
After Turner's death in 1970 Jean was married to Roger Titus from 1975 to 1981 and following Roger's death she was married to George Beecroft from 1986 to 2004.
Jean was a long time member of the local NARFE (Chapter 1549), AARP, and the New Baltimore Home Demonstration Club (50 years). She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Warrenton, VA. Jean had many hobbies over the years to include drawing/sketching, ceramics and most importantly her love for birds and flowers.
Survived by her son Joseph O. Grimsley and his wife Helen of Warrenton, VA; Five grandchildren - Heather Lambert (John), Clifton, VA; Lee Ann Donaldson, Centreville, VA; Mark Grimsley, Amissville, VA; Matthew Grimsley (Nikole), Stanley, NC and Joseph Frye (Leslie), Reston, VA; nine great grandchildren - Mark Grimsley II, Luke Grimsley, Kellen Donaldson, Sydney Donaldson, Ashley Hendrickson, Alex Hendrickson, Nathan Hendrickson, Phillip Frye, Joshua Frye; four great, great grandchildren, Brayden, Kyrra, Jameson and Hagan Frye.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 3 from 7-9 PM at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton where funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Warrenton Cemetery.
