FLORENCE - Connie L. Bird, 57, of Florence died on Sept. 3, 2014, at home. The celebration of life will be from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at American Legion Post 9. Ms. Bird was born on May 18, 1957, in Holbrook to William Beecroft and Effie Carey. She loved Florence and worked there as a dispatcher and police officer for 14 years. She later was a corrections officer for Corrections Corporation of America for 13 years. She enjoyed dancing, crafts, travel and being surrounded by friends and family. She always kept a great spirit. Survivors include her husband, Doug Stinson; six sons and daughters, Christina Frappiea, Joshua Bird, Angel Blakey, Stephanie Rodriguez, Garry and Shelly Bird; two brothers, Kenney and Wiliam Beecroft; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathy Kartchner. J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
