Edward (Ed) Beecroft in his 87th
year. Proud and loving husband of
Pat, the love of his life, his wife of
57 years. Proud and loving father of

area. Fai thful member of Holy Name
of Mary Parish. Resting at the
L.A.Ball Funeral Chapel , 7 Water
St. N., St .Marys. Visitation on
Saturday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM and on
Sunday 2-4PM . The Funeral Mass
will be celebrated at Holy Name of
Mary Church in St.Marys on Monday,
Sept.26,2005 at 11AM with Rev. Fr.
Ross Bartley celebrant . Interment
will follow in St.Marys Cemetery. In
his memory donations to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian
Cancer Society or Holy Name of
Mary Parish would be appreciated.
Parish prayers will be said on Sunday
at 2PM at the funeral home.

General Notes: Husband - Charles Edward "Ed" Beecroft

born November 14, 1918 in Dunwich Township, at the end of WW I. In his youth Ed farmed at home and in Dunwich Township. Ed joined the Militia in 1940 and then the Canadian Army in 1941. After his training, Ed was shipped in August 1942 to Britain and then to Europe, where he was saw a great deal of action. At the end of the war, Ed volunteered to stay on and assist in helping the people of Holland, until his discharge in 1946 when he returned to Canada. At this time, Ed got into the booming housing industry in London, Ontario. After establishing himself, he was finally married May 14, 1948 to his sweetheart whom he had met years earlier. He and Annie Patricia "Pat" Cowan were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Lorne.


General Notes: Wife - Ann Patricia "Pat" Cowan

Pat was born February 10, 1923 at home on the family farm in Chatham Township, Kent County. In her childhood Pat's family moved to West Lorne, Ontario. Pat had trained as a nurse in Hamilton. She had worked as a private duty nurse and for a time, worked at Marian Villa Nursing Home in London. After their marriage, Pat and Ed lived in London, where Ed and his brothers Bruce and Lorne worked with him at Roy James Construction, building homes. Ed was a cement finisher. In 1956 Pat and Ed bought a farm near Thorndale, Ontario where they raised their daughters. In 1967, they moved to 137 Wellington N in nearby St. Mary's. Ed became the shipping manager for Dritz Scovill, a local manufacturing company. He worked there for ten years until 1977, when Ed suffered heart problems. He was 59 years old when he was forced into early retirement. Pat and Ed were strong members of Holy Name of Mary Parish Catholic church and were devoted parents and grandparents. They loved their home and gardens. Ed was proud to make and give out his unique willow canes. Although plagued by heart problems for many years, Ed was blessed to live to his 87th year. Ed passed away September 22, 2005 and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. He was a proud and loving husband of 57 years. Pat missed Ed terribly, and sadly died less then two years later, on June 17, 2007 and was buried with Ed. She was 84. notes. kwb
