• Biography: Charles Beecroft was born to William and Annie Beecroft on 11 Jan 1878 in Wymondham, Leicestershire, England. By age 13 his family had moved to Grantham, Lincolnshire, England and his mother had died. In 1901 he is found working in a music shop as a porter. Later he would learn to do French polish on pianos. By the time he turned 30 he was working as a pianoforte maker. He married Alice Amelia Widcombe on 11 Apr 1914 in Dudley, Worcestershire, England. He was 36 and she was 33 years old. Soon after they married, Charles joined the Army in the Seaforth Highlanders for duty as part of WW1. Later they moved to Liverpool, Lancashire, England and Charles continued as a pianoforte maker. No records of any children born to Charles and Alice have been found. His wife Alice died on 9 Oct 1946 in Barnt Green, Worcestershire, England at the age of 66. Charles died in 1960 in Cleveland, Yorkshire, England at the age of 82.
